COSTA DEL SOL BEACH
Costa del Sol Beach. It presents natural conditions of great beauty. The beaches of San Marcelino, Los Blancos, La Puntilla are part of this area, the latter is where the beautiful Lempa River flows, which connects with the Jaltepec estuary that borders the blue zone of the department of La Paz. In this beautiful place the visitor could navigate its canals, reach the mouth of the Lempa River, and visit Los Negritos beach, still virgin. The Costa del Sol It has the beach of the same name considered one of the best and most famous beaches in El Salvador. This extraordinary Salvadoran beach has a wide extension that ranges from 12 to 15 kilometers, considering it the longest beach in El Salvador.
In this place the great majority of Salvadoran coastal marine birds converge, serving as a nesting site for many of them, it also houses a great diversity of terrestrial species associated with bodies of water and lowlands in general. The Costa del Sol is home to a great variety of mammals, reptiles, local and migratory birds, and a marine fauna that makes it a unique tourist attraction.
It is the beach area with the greatest hotel development in Salvadoran tourism, in recent years the beach of the Costa del Sol has been modernized by leaps and bounds, offering a varied hotel infrastructure, much visited by national and foreign tourists who enjoy a place attractive and unforgettable.

Joya de Cerén has an early settlement history that dates to the Late Pre-Classic (300 B.C.-200 A.D.). This early settlement was abandoned, and ash covered by the massive volcanic eruption of Ilopango in 536 A.D. This event had a disastrous effect on El Salvador, and disrupted trade routes throughout the Pacific Slope and the Highlands. It was originally thought that the eruption took place c.260 A.D. New evidence has demonstrated that this eruption took place centuries later, and was responsible for a global cooling event, with failed crops and famines as noted in Chinese, Irish, Byzantine, and Roman historical accounts. It has been proposed that this event was the immediate cause for the Early Classic hiatus, and the decline of Teotihuacan
